ESPIONAGE started in San Diego, California in late 1986 following the breakup of the band DIAMOND LACE when Steve Brase (guitar, later guitar & vocals) and Mike Dietz (bass) decided to move on and find new members for an all-new band.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you have been digging deep into the US Prog Metal underground, you may be familiar with the band’s “Heed the Warning” demo. Only 100 copies were produced back in 1989 making this item a mega rarity through the years. The music included in this particular demo release, is something really special: ESPIONAGE delivered a heavenly combination of Heavy and Progressive Metal, inspired by bands like JUDAS PRIEST and QUEENSRYCHE at the same time!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Arkeyn Steel records team, managed to track down the bassist and founding member Mike Dietz who was very excited to work on an ESPIONAGE reissue project, revealing lots of unreleased material: The “Ground Zero” unreleased pre-production demo from 1990 or the unreleased two track demo from 1987 (that showcases a more Melodic Metal approach of the band) are just two good examples.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The complete set of the band’s unreleased studio recordings plus their “Heed the Warning” demo from 1989, have been gathered together and made available for the first time on CD!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Everything has been remastered from Scratch by Kostas Scandalis at Infinity Studio (Thessaloniki, Greece). Artwork has been rearranged by Kostas Athanasoglou and the booklet contains lyrics, photos plus in-depth liner notes by Mike Dietz himself.<\/strong><\/p>\n

ESPIONAGE was a very special band, their music stands as one of the top offerings of the US Progressive Metal underground. Their huge talent is highlighted by the great musicianship on each and every one of their recordings, that are now available for a brave discovery through this reissue.
