When it comes to 80’s U.S. metal, there is a number of bands that had all the potential to become a really big name in the scene but due to a number of circumstances they never made it. TYRUS from Boston was an amazing band that back in 1986, released their one and only album “Masters of Revenge” which came out on cassette and also as a super limited edition vinyl test press, making it one of the rarest U.S. metal pressings of all time as only a handful of copies are known to exist. Had that album been also mass produced on vinyl, who can predict how things would have rolled for TYRUS.
Through our friends Christine Tsaprouni & Charly Kogler, we came in touch with Michael Powers and Mike Berardinangelo, founders of the band and we agreed on the official reissue of both “Masters of Revenge” in a version that will be an exact replica of the mega rare vinyl pressing plus a reissue of the band’s follow up album “A New Revenge” featuring re-recordings of old songs plus original recordings of 80’s songs that haven’t seen the light of day so far.
To cut a long story short, be prepared for two amazing reissues, in deluxe editions, featuring band story, lyrics, photos and amazing remastered sound from the original master tapes. Both albums are expected to be available by the end of 2026, which is a year that marks 40 years since the original release of “Masters of Revenge”. HAIL!
This edition is limited to 300 copies, features remastered sound and 20 page booklet with photos, lyrics and band story.
